This is not even a conspiracy theory anymore! Hear me out. So today I was casually browsing social medias when I stumbled upon this news piece from TheGuardian.com:
If you look carefully on the left hand side column, it clearly states that this article was sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. So far, nothing really surprising nor out of the ordinary… Until I saw this on LinkedIn:
A post by Mr. Gates himself, but this time pointing to a BBC article! Ok so now i’m getting curious: How many other newspapers have written an article about this today with the same text or very similar?? I bet these two are not the only ones! So let’s search Google:
And there you have it! Look at this beauty. All these articles have been posted within 24 hours of each other, roughly all about the same time or within 10 hours. And this is just a sample. Here you can see that TIME also has a piece on this, AlJazeera, Bloomberg as well. But if I keep scrolling, I also see globalnews.ca, un.org, dw.com, which all posted a similar article within the last 24 hours.
I don’t know what this means to you, but to me it seems pretty obvious that this is not just a coincidence. They didn’t just decided to write about this for the fun of it. We already know that the foundation has paid The Guardian to do it, so how many others have posted news about this following the reception of money from his foundation? Don’t get me wrong i’m not criticizing the good actions done or anything like that, but I do find it rather concerning that all the medias can play the same tune whenever a foundation gives them money to do so. It doesn’t seem like very neutral journalism anymore.
